Get Well was a photographic exploration of seven inner-ring neighborhoods in Columbus, and the vacancy issues that haunt them. I chose a house or houses to "adopt" in each neighborhood: Hilltop, Franklinton, King-Lincoln, Southside, Olde Town East, Milo Grogan, and Linden - leaving a gift of flowers or a balloon at each location. Vacant houses are certainly an indicator of disinvestment and an environmental factor that can effect the psyche and morale of neighborhood residents. They also mark an empty place that still has residual meaning and memory, to someone.
